I think photoelectric sensors have many gaps to be able to distinguish humans from other objects, I recommend using infrared modulation with certain detection waves that will only capture infrared waves that can only be reflected by humans. I have done the same project with PIR sensors and ultrasonics waves that can only detect humans.

Hi, let me build that people detector using Arduino micro-controller. I have bachelor's degree in hardware (micro-controllers) programming. Recently I have done software for Arduino WiFi 1010 and Arduino Nano. I think, that it would be more accurate to utilize machine learnig and AI to recognise humans. The Arduino micro-controller can communicate with a service, submit the data to recognise and than, server side, this data is processed and analyzed using machine learning and AI to identify if there is a human or not. That's just my first thoughts on this subject. You project is suitable for me because I have a master degree in IT and 18+ years of professional software development experience. Problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, abstract thinking - I do have and always improve along the way. I mostly do software development utilizing Microsoft .Net stack.
