Learning Orchestra!

The audience is written into the music as valuable contributors and get to play many different instruments, both from the audience and from the stage. Shades and lights indicate which notes to play when. The hall is divided into 15 groups and each audience member gets several instruments, including two pint bottles of Farris (Norwegian tapped water). The program can be found at every seat, it says what group one belongs to and what to play for each piece of music. There is also a stick with a line for each halftone to be pasted on one of the two bottles before drinking down to the desired tone.

I added a guitar melody over the sound of beer bottles tuned with water for each tone, as well as votes. I have simulated 3 people on each of the 15 tracks so this indicates how it will sound with 45 people in the audience. The symbol in front of each track indicates the public to blow the bottle or make noises with his mouth.

You will also hear the cymbals and gong. These will stand around the hall and played audiences when it turns a light on the instruments. The strength of the light indicates the strength of these instruments should be played. All this must be controlled by the program. I've also added a click track on the cymbals (midi).

What I envision is a music writing program, where the first 15 tracks trigger video display and the next 30 candles. I'm going to work with midi and will create a percussion track that is heard by us on the stage (but not public). I also need a sound library, so I can simulate events before I put them into practice. I want a program that is super easy to use, so that I can easily make changes to the events from day to day, as we gain experience in how the public responds.
