We have a WordPress plugin that locks content until a user tweets, Facebook like or G+ about our site. It works great and here we use shortcodes to define which content is locked, which message to display to the user Eg. "Like this to show the content" and which link should be liked. When they like or share the content is automatically shown to them. All of this is working great now so this does not have to be coded.

We need to make a few modifications to use this with WooCommerce.

This is what needs to be done:

1. Make the plugin integrate with the WooCommerce checkout without touching the WooCommerce files. (There is support for this in WooCommerce)
2. On the checkout page the user will get a message saying they can like/share to get a discount. If the user likes or shares it a coupon code will automatically be applied to their cart (class = add_discount( $coupon_code )).
3. We currently have all the settings in the shortcode E.g. [lock msg=Like to unlock link="http://www.mylink.com/"]. These settings will instead be set up on a plugins options page. + Additional setting to change the twitter message that is generated (currently it just uses the page title). + Of course we need a field to enter which coupon code to be applied.

The plugin currently has a cookie function which stops users from having to like several times to access content. This cookie will instead be used to stop the "Like to get a discount" box to show several times. There also has to be a checkbox in the plugin options to enable/disable cookies.

This looks like a lot of text but it really isn't very complicated as the script is already done and working. Just need it modified for another purpose.
