We are after developing an application that can be wrapped into a .exe and provided to our clients. On execution, the application will extract itself onto the PC into their programs folder (following the normal screens you would expect eg terms and conditions etc). An icon will then sit in the bottom-left corner.

The user will enter their login details for our service. Right-clicking the icon brings some options of links off to our website pages.

This application will connect to our LAMP platform which monitors website activity through an analytics package we have on their website. Each time there is a new visitor to their website then the icon will let the customer know, eg MSN style context menu.

We will provide all of the graphics and content for this.

There will be other features but this first bid is for the above.

Our concern will be the high number of requests between the applications and our servers so we would like to know how you would propose to do this?
