Welcome to ScriptLance contests. This is one of several first contests posted by us to demonstrate, as well as make use of, this great new feature.
This contest: Create a mockup design for our future ScriptLance e-mail newsletter. The newsletter will be sent regularly to subscribed members.
The winning entry receives $250.
Notes:
-CSS/HTML design NOT needed yet. Just a mockup. Although we may hire you after to slice it.
-We may split the newsletter into 2: one for buyers and one for freelancers. OR we may combine all info into a single newsletter, with sections for both user types separated. Please consider this.
-Design should be independent of current SL website design and email header, because it may all change later. Do not copy and paste the SL look.
-Professional, easy on the eyes, but attracts attention to important parts.
-Include SL logo.
-Using SL colors not a requirement. We are looking for something unique and independent.
-it should be compatible with smaller smartphone/tablet screens. That means, elastic or small width design.

-lists: top tags, top projects, top users, featured freelancers (with thumbnails), etc.

I like the new background for the left column.
Some of the icons on the right edge of the right column is too crowded. Too close to the border. It looks like the newsletter was cut off.
My biggest problem with the design is that some of the color choices make it too bright and flashy, and some colors don't contrast well, making it difficult to read the text.
And I suggest you also try this updated mascot: http://www.scriptlance.com/images/mascot/01/SL_Mascot_01_512.png (but mirror him so he is facing the content)

This one is really nice, clean layout while still being very informative
Really like this. The colours are spot on, and the layout flows very well.
I think the "more" buttons stand out too much. Can you try using lighter colors? It might work better if it was like the buttons on contests (light bg, dark border, and dark text).
The text links should be a darker orange color, so they are easier to read, especially on the light blue backgrounds.
And can you replace the stock photo with our new mascot? Please use this version: http://www.scriptlance.com/images/mascot/01/SL_Mascot_01_512.png (but mirror him so he is facing the content)
