A client's website needs to be upgraded from Joomla 1.0 to Joomla 1.7. The site contains many modules and components which may not exist anymore. If the modules or components do not exist anymore, those modules and components need to be replaced with something current, and the data migrated over into the new components.

The biggest one of these is a forum component which no longer exists, so a new forum component will need to be found and the existing forum posts will have to be migrated into it.

The Joomla 1.0 site also has community builder. The users will need to be migrated into the latest version of community builder. The community builder has a custom written tab which tracks mountains climbed by a user. This is a very simple app which will need to be incorporated into the new site, and again, the data will need to be migrated.

The site will need to be redesigned to reflect a more modern look. We will choose a yoo theme to start with and it must be customized to our specification.

I estimate this is a 20 to 30 hour project. I did not know Joomla 2.5 was out when I posted this. The requirement is now Joomla 2.5 which should not effect the amount of work required. Here is a clearer description of the problem below as well.

Update a website from Joomla 1.0 to Joomla 2.5 preserving all information the site. You must update the components which still exist for Joomla 2.5 or find replacement components for those which no longer exist for Joomla 2.5 and migrate the data in full. You must make the new site look presentable using the Yoo Theme called Revista and the logos provided to you. Preserving the users and the forum of the site is the most critical part of this task. The second most critical part of the task is replacing the mountain tracker application built into community builder on the old site. It is a very simple application, but you will need to study its requirements from the site to make it work identical to how it does now. I would very much like to see that created as a new Joomla component rather than built into community builder, however.

I will also need the queries you ran in a single SQL file so I can run them again myself when we make the new site live. The reason being that while you are upgrading the site the users will still continue to use the site and things will get out of sync. So we will have to run the queries which transfer the data from the old site to the new site again when we go live.
