- Description: We have a WordPress popup plugin, PlatinumPopup (http://platinumplugins.com/products/wordpress/platinumpopup-for-wordpress/), that has a few issues with Internet Explorer (IE9 specifically, but in many respects also with the earlier versions).
We need someone to correct these incompatibility issues for us. The KNOWN issues are as follows:
(1) Popup sizing:
The sizing of a popup in relation to its content is almost (if not 100%) identical in Firefox and Chrome, but it differs quite a bit in IE. An example can be seen here: http://platinumpopup.com/on-page-load/single-image-popup/.
(2) Rounded corners:
One feature of our popups is the ability to give the popup border rounded corners. This works in Firefox and Chrome, but not in IE. The same example above applies.
(3) Drop shadow:
This is yet another feature of our plugin that works great in Firefox and Chrome, but looks REALLY crappy in IE. The same example above applies.
(4) Out of place video:
When we use a video in a popup the video sits sort of "outside" of its space, slightly to the left and top (in IE). This does not happen in Firefox and Chrome.
(5) No popups appear:
This doesn't happen often, but sometimes the popups just refuse to appear at all in IE. We have no idea why that happens.
(6) Other possible issues:
There might be issues we're unaware of, that a good programmer might notice.
NB: The programmer we select for this project should also check everything against the Safari browser and make sure there are no incompatibilities with it either.
We believe these issues should not be a fairly easy fix for a competent programmer with WordPress experience, and we would like to forge a relationship with such a programmer to further develop the plugin in the very near future.
There are a number of examples of popups on this site: http://platinumpopup.com. If you would like to see the setup page etc. of the plugin, we have a test site here: http://test.platinumplugins.com/wp-admin/. Username/password: admin/admin.
We look forward to receiving your bids! :)
Best regards,

Please do not bid on this project if you haven't intimately acquainted yourself with everything in our description above (checked the examples, logged in to the test site etc.). And no canned responses (standard first messages) either please...Additional Info (Added 1/25/2012 at 16:06 EST)...Just to correct an error in the description above: The sentence "We believe these issues should not be a fairly easy fix for a competent programmer with WordPress experience, and we would like to forge a relationship with such a programmer to further develop the plugin in the very near future" should read "We believe these issues SHOULD be a fairly easy fix for a competent programmer with WordPress experience, and we would like to forge a relationship with such a programmer to further develop the plugin in the very near future." - Tags:
