I need an expert mathematician to help me with my simple project. I have an issue that I need to fix and I need a programmer that will work with me helping me to solve that issue, the programmer MUST GIVE ME IDEAS, JUST IDEAS, solutions and strategies in order to solve it.

I hope I'll be able to explain the idea properly.
I have a big list of combinations and I want to make it smaller but by logic, so what I mean is that I want to find a way of creating a smaller list that covers all from my initial list. But I need some logical explanations, some logical strategies.

This is a simple idea, but what I need is you skills, knowledge and intelligence to help me. If you are a mathematics geek even better, I would love to work with you. I need you to help me finishing this project.
