- Description: I need an application/program created that can be used for accounting/tax purposes (USA).
The program/application must be compatible to be installed in all Windows operating systems, including the new ones like Vista, etc.
The program must allow me to input INCOME and/or EXPENSE that I make on my home business. It must allow me to pick the date, must allow me to print REPORTS based on month, date range, category, etc. Must be able to print or save an INCOME REPORT, EXPENSE REPORT, and a PROFIT/LOSS REPORT, based on the values I have inputted.
Must allow me to export the database (so I can backup the data) and import database (to restore, if needed). I must be able to customize the categories, add notes, add transaction details, etc. WITHOUT limiting the # of characters I can type in.
A good example of an application which has some of the features I am asking for can be viewed on the site below (see attachment).
However, their software has the following limitations:
- Can only type in 15 characters in the form fields
- The dates are limited/set (example: you can't use for year 2011)
- The fonts cannot be changed on the reports
- The software does not calculate profit/loss automatically for the entire year. The reports are printed separately (expense vs income).
** HOWEVER, I don't mind having a replica of their software as long as I am able to do the following, at least:
- Choose any date (can be any day from 2008, 2009, 2010 and all the way to the future) -- no limitations to the date where I can input data
- Have no # of characters limitation when I input data. I should still be able to view the REPORT properly no matter how many characters I input on the data field
- Be able to customize the categories (drop down-menu)

The one that I need developed is something similar (and better) than the program they are selling -- the main program/application/software.
