I've created an image gallery setup that will fade out all but the currently viewed image. I'm using z-index to put a png file that is all white with 50% opacity. I'm then putting the images under the the "fade out". both images are part of the href and everything works fine in Firefox, but as soon as I run it in Internet Explorer, it's as if the "fade out" blocks the link

The project is: Explain to me why this is happening and what is an acceptable work around.

Bonus Question for this project: In firefox, If you click on the thumbnails randomly, the alignment gets thrown off as some of the images shift down. The images are defined at 67px square. They are displayed in a <UL> rather than a table. If you refresh the page, all of the thumbnails snap back to where they are supposed to be.
