AIMS OF SITE

The main function of the site, is to promote online dating and offline social dating events, such as speed dating, singles events, and various other related dating services.



The idea is to provide a professional, user friendly, feature packed online dating facility, which combines the best features of the main players in the online dating world, such as Loopylove, Girls Date For Free, Pocado, Match.Com, Speedater, Chemistry, etc., whilst providing some additional features that will give the site the competitive edge. In doing this, it offers a strong marketing tool, to drive business towards the social events facility.

The idea, is to build up a database of people, that can be managed by area, sex and age groups. These people can then be alerted to upcoming events in their area by email, and via text message to their mobile phone. The administrators want then, to be able to automatically view how many people are signed up to an event in a particular area, and at the touch of a button, send a text message alert for example, notifying 24 -36 year old males, that a local event is fully booked for females, but that there are still a few male places left.



Members would initially sign up for free, create their online profile. and receive a one month completely free trial, allowing them to use all the facilities of the site, such as send & receive messages to / from all members, use the online chat, and other features, such as multiple photo uploads etc., At the end of the trial, members would be reverted to basic membership, with restricted features, and invited to upgrade to Full membership using their debit / credit card. Payments would be taken on a periodical basis. (Weekly, Monthly/ Bi Annually & Annually?). Users will only be able to show one photo, lose the use of message filtering system, who's viewed me facility, private page and the instant messaging service. To regain use of these features, they must sign up to full membership and pay to have access to all the site benefits.



The site is intended to be easy to navigate, with all the listed features, but in an original format, which is both professional and light hearted, to ensure users enjoy the site to its' full potential. With features such as Message Receive Filter, it should appeal particularly to females, (who are the key factor in a successful dating site), allowing them to receive messages only from people who fit their search criteria. Based on research, one of the main complaints from women about online dating, is the amount of unwanted messages they receive, which means they have to spend large amounts of time sifting through masses of messages to find any potential matches. Also, with localised dating events, the aim would be create miniature 'Dating Communities', all affiliated to the brand name.



For the dating events, users will be able to view a list of events in their area, book their place for the event online or by telephone and check who scored them after an event.





In addition to the above, there would be a ‘News Page' which would feature items such as a Dating Advice Column, Dating success stories from the site, profile of the week, and various other items, such as birthday greetings, to give members the feel of getting ‘a bit extra' for their money.



Advertising for the site would be provided by Online Promotion via major search engines, local media advertising for Site organised dating events, and various other methods.

Private Page:





An additional page, where the member can put more personal information and adult pictures( X4?) of themselves. This page would not be displayed on their general profile. The member has the option of paying an additional charge to have this page, which other members can only view if the owner of the page sends them an invite to view, which they can accept or decline.







Messages:



Inbox / Outbox with capacity to hold 100 messages? Detailing who it is from / to with link to that members profile by clicking on their user name. Also date & time sent / received. Automatically delete read messages over 60 days old?



Flirt Facility:



This allows all members (especially shy people) to send winks/smiles etc, to other members if they do not wish to make full on contact with a message. This facility is available to basic members to encourage them to sign up & have full contact with any paid members who may send a flirt to them.





Favourites:



Page where members can keep a list of their favourite profiles, with thumbnails of main picture. Click Picture to link to profile. Also, facility to see which members have added user to their favourite list.









Who's viewed me?:



This link will allow members to view in order the last people to view them. When the click on the link, it would bring up a picture and basic details of the people who have looked at their profile.



Blocks:



Facility for users to block any members they do not wish to communicate with any longer, or who have been consistently bombarding them with messages or generally

harassing them. This would be coupled with a ‘report abuse' to moderators facility.



There should also be a facility for members to report any photos or profiles that they may find offensive, with a ratings system for how offensive they find the material, I.e, scale of 1 to 5. This means in times of high volumes of complaints, the most offensive materials could be dealt with as priority.

Moderators tools





The moderator will require the ability to preview profiles before they are allowed to go live on the site.



Obviously this may be a time consuming exercise, so maybe?, it would be possible to initially approve the users profile, text only, with a filter designed to take out any potentially offensive words, or email/website addresses, until the profile can be reviewed and approved by the moderator. This would enable the user to immediately access the site, therefore ‘keeping them on board' while the suitability of their submission is assessed. No photos would be displayed until they had been approved by the moderator. Paying members would need to be reviewed first for approval, and then obviously basic members take low priority.



As part of the promotional activity, we would require the ability to offer free full access to some members, as an incentive, for example, prizes at a singles night might be, 6 months, 3 months and one months free access to the site.



Moderators would also require the ability to alter/remove/ block parts of or full profiles & photographs if they are deemed unsuitable for publishing on the site.



Also, the moderator would require the ability to respond to members queries/ complaints through the feedback facility.





Speed Dating Section





In this section of the site, members can search for events local to them, view details of the event, whether it is speed dating or a singles night. View a description of what will happen on the night, and a description, photo and details of the venue.



They will be able to book a place at the event online using a debit or credit card, or they will be able to make credit / debit card bookings over the phone.



The administrators will require the ability to quickly access the booking system, in the case of taking telephone bookings, so as to ascertain the availability of an event.



Once members have been to an event, they will retain their scorecard from the night, and can then go onto the website, and tick off against each person who was there, if they wish to contact them again, they do not want any contact at all, or if they simply wish to remain friends with the other person. If two members match each other as a yes, or as a friend, an email is automatically generated and sent to each member to notify them of this.



The key element is that all members of the site, in the relevant age group and area, receive email and text notification of upcoming events in their area.
