The big picture: What I want is a site dedicated to politics. This is like having a page in Facebook, but this means that is not the whole facebook site, but only a users page. Imagine that you have a facebook user, this user is the Politics Site. The friends you have as user, will be the members of the site, therefore the community. So all members belong to the same community.
The site, will have the following features.
• A debate section, which is a section where all the candidates answer specific questions and all candidates make comments to their opponents response and after the candidates responses and candidates, then all users can add a comment. Refer to email of the oct 7th
• Parties section. Is a static section with info of the political parties.
• • I do like the idea of having a wall, but the wall should be available only for the candidates and some other team members of each party, but not available to all users. So this means that we need from the admin panel to identify candidates and their team members so they can have their own wall.
Registration.
1) Username should be the email address
2) Required fields: Refer to old registration for feelds and data base. All fields should be mandatory, except Middle Name and Home Phone. Fields with combo boxes must have maintenance on the admin panel to add or delete records.
3) Add survey options. Maybe an extension can be used. JUser - Extended Joomla Registration (http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/access-a-security/authentication/2034)
4) I need the IP Addresses of all users when registered, but not let the user know. Since this is politics, I need to identify if the same person is trying to create more than one user.
5) The registration must be validated through email.
6) There should be User Categories managed through a Component. A specific example: Category 1 = Candidates. Category 2= Deputies. Category 3= Other Party Related. Category 4= Public Users
Login
1. All users must login.
2. The only public view available without login is the index page.
Index
1. Will show “n” questions selected from the admin panel
2. For each question, it will show the first 2 lines of each candidates response. This means that if there are 7 candidates, for each question it should show 7 responses. The order of the candidates responses should be random.
Debate Section
Categories
1. It will have a category section. E.g. Security, Health, Immigration, Education etc.
2. These categories must have a component to create, delete, enable, disable, change orders etc from the admin Panel.
3. Each category should show the score of each candidate for each specific category.
Questions
1. Each category will have “n” questions
2. These questions must have a component to create, delete, enable, disable, change orders etc from the admin Panel. Of course select to which category it belongs to.
3. The questions will be created by the admin user.
4. The questions will have the following flow.
I intend to have one new question and its responses from the candid dates every day.
Candidates will have their own admin area to complete questions and to comment on other candidates responses.
What I want is to send all the candidates a question for day 1. I'll give them 2 days to respond. Once the response is submitted (not published yet), the other candidates will receive and email letting them know that Candidate x already responded to that Question. The other candidates will submit their comments to the candidates answer. For this will they'll have 24 hours to submit the comments. Then once the period has expired, the candidate must comments the responses from the other candidates. For this there will be 1 more day. Once completed all the sections the admin will receive an alert or email that the question is complete so it can be published.
Once published, logged users can comment over the questions and responses.
