  • Description:
    Up for a challenge?

There is an auction web site that I want to do some research on (I'll reply to PMB with more specifics on the name of the site).

There are two parts to this project

    Part 1:
When an auction ends they post the most recent bids, but I'd like to be able to retrieve the entire bid history. I'm not sure whether there is a way to pull this data through a special query string, etc.

    Part 2:
I'd like to be able to query the site to pull historical data on:
    a) the winning bid amount of an item
    b) how many bids were placed
    c) the name of the item
    d) the ID # of the item
    e) the winning username
    f) the date/time the auction ended

If necessary, this could be limited to only urls that I enter that point to specific pages, but I'd rather it just hit the site on a regular basis and automatically grab the data.

If both parts are possible, then I'd also like to tie the data in Part 1 with the Data in Part 2.

This should run as a PHP script and put the data in a MySQL database. The script would probably be triggered by a cron job.
