- Description: Need to develop an internal Room Booking system (accessible by motel staff only) to allow the staff to book rooms and view which room is available when, who's booked it and whether or not the room has been paid. This is for 1 motel (not multiple hotels). This is also not a system for customers to book online.
How this works: The motel staff will log into a secure admin portal, and immediately see a calendar view, with a list of rooms underneath each day. The rooms are colour coded to indicate if they are available or booked. This provides a nice integrated view of all rooms, by week/month and overall availability.
Clicking into a room on a specific day will show the hotel staff the following information:
- Name and details of person who's booked the room
- The payment (credit card) details
- Which date range the room is book for for that person
- Whether or not the person has checked in yet
For rooms that are ‘vacant', hotel staff can complete a new booking for that room on that date which captures the above information.
The booking system will also allow the ability to add/remove rooms from the system.
The booking system will also have a couple of archiving features
- Purge credit card details older than 1 week (or whatever period defined)
- Archive old bookings (export to CSV + remove from online database)
Additionally there needs to be a User Management system:
- Define user group, and privileges to the group has (view/add/delete, etc)
- Define users, which group they belong to and username/password
- One master account which has control over all users/groups
The application design will be provided in either Fireworks (.png) or Photoshop (.psd) format so no website design is required.
The application needs to be developed in PHP/MySQL/Javascript, and HTML must be ‘W3C xHTML 1.0' compliant. Where possible/feasible, nice AJAX interface features would be welcomed, but is not a strict requirement.

Booking of rooms by staff is also possible. Howeer some changes like User Management bring in credit card details will have to be made.
