Base retainer of $50 per month. This is paid regardless of how much work you do (eg, if I don't send you work, you still get paid $50 minimum each month). This is to guarantee that you keep some time free for me, and get started immediately on the work when I DO send it.

Plus your hourly rate.

I design 2 types of sites: 1 is a basic site in a CMS, the other is membership sites using MySQL / PHP.


For the basic sites, I need you to upload my graphic designer's HTML to the server, then configure the CSS file so that everything displays correctly. Configure the shopping cart config file. Copy and paste client text & images into the CMS. set up pages and forms in the CMS. It's easy work.


For the MySQL / PHP sites...

I build simple CMS sites using Silverstripe (silverstripe.org). About 1 per week.

I build sites in CodeIgnitor. There are more than 1 person working on it, so we use SVN to monitor which version of code is being used (you can install free SVN from http://tortoisesvn.tigris.org)

If you have used CodeIgnitor and are willing to install the SVN and use it, then the job is very simple.

We use PHP and MySQL to generate a membership type of site. We also work on integrating with Facebook Platform.

Generally, you will be calling data from the database and displaying it on the page using php code. The main graphic design (header, navigation and footer) will already be done - you just need to create the HTML for the inner section of the pages.

You will receive instructions on what the code should do, what the HTML design should look like, and the variables, coding style and framework that we use.

You are then free to write your code to achieve the desired goal.
