- Description: We currently have a website, and would like to add an additional portion of the site for articles.
We have two categories of articles - news and reviews.
We would like to use joomla as the system to add/write articles.
We need someone to install joomla, in a /joomla/ folder on our website, and then add the following things:
1. While writing articles, we would like to be able to specify an 'artist' the article is related to(our website is related to music). We have a table with ~100 artists, and you will need to pull the list and place it in a drop down box. Then when the article is saved, you will need to probably add a field to the articles table to insert the artist id in.
Please note, we will use this artist id later in our system, you will not need to use it, but you will need to add the ability for us to specify, or 'tag' the article.
- in addition to this, for each article, we need to specify if it is a review or news article.
2. For front end, we will need a few files to pull the articles. The first will be two files, reviews.php and news.php that we will place at oursite.com/ (So for reviews it will be oursite.com/reviews.php). Please note this is the parent directory of the /joomla/ folder. These two files we would like to list all the articles, WITH pagination, similar to how dailyhardware.com lists articles in the 'latest articles'. Meaning, for each article we will have a small image we would add for each one.
* Then for each article, when clicked on, it will need to be displayed like how it was in the WYSIWYG editor in joomla.
In addition to this, we would like to slightly change the htaccess mod_rewrite, so that the articles are in this format: oursite.com/news/article_title_here_id.html and oursite.com/reviews/article_title_here_id.html
3. I also need sample code from you to pull latest articles list for me to place on the home page of the site.
You obviously would need to integrate all of this into our design that we will provide.
