I am creating a site called 13events.com that will highlight 13 events going on in the Northern Virginia area each week. I need a Drupal Theme that will support this, although I am open to using Joomla or another CMS if you think that would be a better choice.

The design needs to be elegant and somewhat simple. The basic concept behind the site is listed below:

Featuring 13 Events in and around Northern Virginia

Site Concept – Many sites have attempted to create event listing, but have fallen short because they often are not focused enough or turn into a hard-to-navigate database, or fail to really highlight interesting, worthwhile events.

The site 13events will highlight 13 events. Initially, it will highlight 13 events in and around the Northern Virginia area. It will be updated once a week.

The first three events will appear prominently on the home page, with either a photo or graphic. Less emphasis will be put on the other 10 events.

Each event listing will include:

*a 25-50 character headline
*a 50-150 word summary
*day and time of the event
*a link to more information that will generally an offsite link, although I will also need the option of adding a secondary page with more information that might also include photos and a link to youtube video
* an option link to where to buy tickets (such as ticketmaster)
* a link to the google map of the location of the event

In addition, registered users will be able to share comments about the events.

Visitors will need to be able to sign up for a newsletter. The newsletter, to go out once a week, will summarize the 13 events.

Users will also be able to get an RSS feed that will include the 13 events.

Users will need to be able to submit an event, although it will not be posted to the site without an editors approval.

While there will not be ads on the site at first, google ads will be added once the site is up and running for a few months.

I am asking that the person hired for this project to create the theme, related graphics, and, if needed, any customizations needed to Drupal or other CMS that would make this work.
