We run a portal system based on Perl (Metadot), a shopping cart based on PHP (osCommerce), and a CRM based on PHP (SugarCRM). The perl system supports LDAP, the cart has an LDAP mod, and the CRM is unknown. When a user registers on either the portal or on the shopping cart we want to have the user data (email, password, address, etc) to duplicate or exist for all three applications. In other words, a user comes in and purchases a product filling out their personal information. The information should then either be stored in one main database or duplicated across all three databases. If the user updates their profile on one app it should replicate so all databases are in sync. A central user database would be the most efficient and reliable. The user should also be able to login to the cart or the portal by using the email and password they provide on registration.It is best to have one database for all data rather than 3 databases. The oscommerce database will serve as the data for the new central database. metadot will be configured so that records are matched with the oscommerce based on details provided by you. Sugar CRM installed today is not resolving correctly not allowing login. will need to be fixed to allow login if it is not ready when you start the project.
