We want to modify and extend an already existing online workflow software based on php + mysql. The software is called knomos and is freely (gpl) downloadable from sourceforge.

At the moment the downloaded version needs some tweaking (some minor errors were fixed in our version , which will be provided) and some important enhancements:
-contact's names (table contact, fields 'nome' and 'indirizzo') should be crypted in the database.
-a little site redisign will be good (easy-to-edit template/css files)
-a security check should be performed

Then new modules should be coded:
-a communications module should be created allowing to write (embedding a rich text editor like tinimce?) and send/receive/attach-to-a-case (both document and calendar tables) email messages.
-documents module should make available sending documents as an attacment through email, fax, snail mail or registered mail. The module should allow multiple senders using multiple channels (as already stated: email, fax, snail mail, registered mail) and the sent messages should be kept track of in the history (calendar table) and in the accounting table ('prestazioni').

The modules developement should follow the project's modules structure/concept and must be fully commented. Moreover some of the developement details should be agreed upon before starting the project, as solution suggestions are needed.
