Ajax functionallity to joomla

- Description: I want to add ajax functionality at modules of a joomla 1.0.13 based portal i have.
I need to use an open button at some modules that will be at the module header space that by clicking it expand the module and load module data with ajax and after this a close button that makes it like before.
Also choose which modules i want to use this functionality at the backend module edit page or other way.
I already have installed phil-taylor tags component and some other components that are using ajax.
The reason of the project is to make the portal lighter and simpler.
