  • Description:
I recently posted a project whereas I had what I knew to be a flash game (.swf file), that had been compiled into an exe. The programmer who eventually won the project was able to do just what I asked...that was to decompile the exe and obtain the .swf file. Here is what I now have and now has become my current project.

I have a 19 KB .swf file and a 38,646 KB .dat file. If you 'right click' the .swf file and instruct your PC to open it in MSIE, it will open it and you can play the game. Without the .dat file, you're dead in the water.

I've been told that the .dat file was written in Visual C++. Well, it may as well have been written in Greek because I don't understand that either.

I've uploaded the referenced files here:

    http://www.knightymeproductions.com/scriptlance/project.rar (30 MB)

    My questions are these....

    1. Can the files be recompiled into a C++ project?

    2. Is it possible to convert such a project to VB?

    3. Is it possible to convert the data in the .dat file to make it a stand-alone working .swf file?

I appreciate your time to consider my project. Please PMB me with any questions.
