- Description: We want a fairly simple ordering system. We need to be able to enter our product stock levels in a Database on a daily basis both as a morning start up stock and also add (and ocassionally reduce) stock as it arrives throughout the day, we will also need to add new product lines regularly and amend product descriptions and prices whenever necessary. There should also be an additional column in which we can place future stock availabilty this would have no calculation effect, it is only there to let the customer know what will probably be available over the following couple of days. We currently have about 40 product lines.
We need our customers to be able to log in to a secure members area (they must be able to retreive lost user names and passwords by email etc) of our web site, then they should be able to see our stock availability and current prices and be able to print a copy if they so desired. From there they must be able to place an order and from there they should be able to print out their pro-former invoice. Anything they order should be deducted directly from the stock Database. They should also be able to view their previous orders.
In the back office we will need to be able to process the customers order so this should be able to be printed and also exportable, a copy of the order should also be emailed to both the customer and also to our email address.
We currently host our website on a linux server so please use whatever the most appropriate programming and database options
