Hello,

I am in need of a simple desktop application. Ideally it will work on Windows systems ( including VISTA ) and Mac, but as a start it might be ok to only work on Win ( priority will be given to the os independent solutions ).

Descritpion:
1. Software needs to automatically search for an installed program on the computer ( or detect it in Task manager and see from where it is ran ).
2. Software needs to detect the start of a program and activate a variable or something. It will check task manager every x mins/secs and when it detects that the program has closed, it needs to upload a file from that program to an online server (using a FTP account). If upload is succesfull, it will the delete a file or edit a file in a file.
3. Software will read a file on the computer and a text file online. It will compare 2 strings ( version strings ). If the strings do not match, it will download an addon, unzip it and copy it in a specified location.

Key software points:
- needs to be extremely user friendly. Easy to install and run.
- needs to have an option to autorun on startup
- needs to be able to run in background
- needs to be optimized ( no outrageous memory/cpu requirements )
- needs to have a nice user interface ( graphics will be provided )

This is a basic description of the first version. The programming language is up for debate. We are looking for a reliable programmer/company that will create many other software for us and also upgrade/maintain them. So you may think of this as a test.

Also, be reasonable with the time frame and price. I have a more than fair knowledge about programming. Time is an important factor in our selection process! All questions will be answered via PMB. For more detailed information please use PMB. Bids without a description in PMB will be ignored.

This is my 3rd project post. PLEASE bid ONLY if you have the time to work and also the knowledge. .NET C#/C++ or Java is preferred though VB will also be ok.
