Functionality Objectives:

• news module: Be able to input articles and images
in a similar fashion to exisiting Southwest Orlando
Bulletin website. Also be able to input links within/
at bottom of the article. Articles should be able to be
sorted and displayed by issue date or section type.
• end user account creation: Be able to allow end
users to create user accounts (email address with
password and profile of user). Once logged in, users
should be able to post reviews, classified ads and
events; create business directory listings; purchase
personal ads and banner ads; and submit news and
calendar events (form that is emailed). Select fields
from the user profile should be available for other
users to see.
• calendar of events: Be able to input events in several
different categories. Each event should be able to
include location, date, contact information, image,
and a website link (probably to be purchased).
• polls, contests, topics of discussion: Be able to create
multiple-choice and short-answer polls and contests
users can respond to. Be able to dynamically post
continuously updating results (to multiple choice
polls), and allow users to post comments on the
polls/contests. Also allow for in-house bloggers to
post columns and allow end users to respond.
• classified ads module: Be able to allow logged-in
users to post one non-personal listing per acount for
free. Ads should have titles, descriptions, contact
information, and allow for a finite number of images.
Website links should be allowed to be purchased.
• business directory module: Be able to input business
information (Name, contact information, description
of business), finite number of photos, coupon or
special offer, and website link. Also be able to allow
logged-in users to create business directory listings for
themselves. Allow for users to puchase website links.
• map: Be able to plot businesses, events, and points
of interest on a map of southwest Orlando, similar to
augustine.com
• user reviews: Be able to allow logged-in users to post
reviews on businesses, events, news articles, polls,
contests, and blogs.
• banner ad management module: Be able to upload ads
for a finite number of sizes and page positions. Be
able to specify for a certain section, search term, or
individual page.
• Search function: Be able to allow end users to search
our site.
• Shopping cart: Be able to allow logged-in users to
purchase website link, banner ads, and personal
ads. Paypal payment types are fine.

Revenue Centers:

• website links: $15 - $30 per month
- Posted on events, business listings, and classified
ads
- plain text links
- only put them on people who pay for them because
it takes people off our site.
• banner ads: Varying Prices
- Ads would range in price depending on where the
ad is placed, the size of the ad, and whether or not
they have prefered placement.
- There would be a finite number of sizes.

Phases:

• community content redesign:
Community content will have to be redesigned first,
since it's what people come to the site for currently.
This will hopefully produce a traffic increase. This
should be accompaied by an advertising campaign
in SWB promoting the new website.

• tourist content:
Tourist content should be updated second. This would
introduce our business directory modual, and provide
for a section of it to be completed before filling in
the community end of the directory. The pages in this
phase are almost all based on the business directory
module. The map module is almost completely
dependent on the business directory module
