Description: I'm fairly new to the XML stuff and we have a problem. We have a program that exports our articles from different categories into different XML files. These are then uploaded to our site through FTP.

I've been trying to use several posted examples using SQLXMLBulkLoad to batch load the files. Y'no read all the XML files in the directory and then import them into the SQL database. I'm just not having any luck and we're running out of time.

We're needing a programmer to get it done for us NOW since we can't afford the time for my learning curve. If anyone could help please let me know and your rates. Samples of the XML files are attached. The tags in the XML to the SQL the database fields as follows:

    SQL Database name: NEWS
    SQL Table NEWSARTICLES

These are the XML to SQL fields and SQL data types.
XML=article_title to SQL=article_title (data type nvarchar)
pubdate to release_date (data type datetime)
    aricle_cat to article_cat (int 4)
    article_publish to article_publish (bit 1)
    article_frontpage to article_frontpage (bit 1)
    article_headlines to article_headlines (bit 1)
    article_body to article_body (ntext)
    uniqueid to issue_id (int 4)

So, we need a VB and/or ASP script to import all the different named XML files that were uploaded to a directory and import them into an existing SQL database. It would be great if we had a VB script, then we could schedule it to run and ALSO an ASP script to run from the web. (please no ASP.NET)

    It's running on a Microsoft 2000 Server with SQL 2000 and IIS5.

    I need something ASAP!!!

    Thanks Micheal
Additional Info (Added 12/17/2008 at 10:58 EST)...

    Just to clarify some responses:
This needs to be in VB/ASP and be very easy for the user to start. If VB then we could set the script up to be scheduled to run. If I also has the ASP version, we could then have a user run it from a web page.

The various named XML files are uploaded to a directory.
The script needs to read all of the files in that directory and import them directly into the SQL database.

Just a note, I had part of a script working with SQLXMLBulkLoad on the SQL Server. This was the preferred method from my research on the web.

Again this need to be VB/ASP script

    Thanks again
    Micheal
