Who are we looking for? Expert in Magento Customizations – please provide examples of Magento shopping cart customizations.
What are we looking for? A custom feature for a MAGENTO shopping cart that will allow the buyer to customize a product with text and sometimes a logo.
Here are the details of the feature we're looking for:
Let's use as example a trophy that will have 4 lines of engraved text and it sells for $25 if bought in quantity of 1, or $22 if bought in quantity of 2 or more, and so forth (using tier pricing).
When a buyer goes to the trophy page he\she should have 4 text fields available to input the text to be engraved on the trophy, and 1 upload field where he\she can add a logo\graphic file that needs to be engraved on the trophy. If the buyer changes the quantity to 2, then the number of text fields changes to 8 (4 for each of the 2 trophies). If the quantity changes to 3, the number of field texts changes to 12 and so forth. The tier pricing feature it is already built in.
There are 2 other options which are less desirable but we're open to them.
Option 2 - we'll consider it if you can provide a working solution in 24 hrs.
On the product page the Quantity option is removed, and as a result the buyer has only the option to purchase one product at a time.
The 4 lines are still available, as well as the Upload image\logo\text file (s). The buyer adds the item to the shopping cart, and clicks to Continue Shopping which returns the buyer to the same item. The buyer enters a different text in the 4 text fields available, and clicks the Add to Cart button. Now we have 2 identical items in the shopping cart (they have the same SKU), but they have different content to be engraved. Magento does not automatically change the pricing from $25 to $22 because the tier pricing feature is no longer available since we restricted the quantity in the product page to 1. So you need to implement Shopping Cart rules that will identify the products and automatically adjust the price based on the number of identical SKU found in the shopping cart.
Option 3 (it will delay the deployment of the shopping cart but if it does what we need it to do we're open for it)
Change to a whole different shopping cart that will allow us to implement OPTION 1.
The shopping cart should have the following options:
- PayPal integration
- Google SEO optimization\sitemap
- Tier Pricing
- UPS \ USPS module
- Product grouping (same product, different sizes, different color)
