This project is to create a program that is able to produce detailed reports and analysis (in numerical and chart form) of the results of a recorded sequence of bets. Please note: all bidders must be able to show evidence that they have successfully completed projects involving complex analysis and calculation, either in the financial or betting market - It is absolutely vital the bidder understands the flow of funds in a sequence of bets, and be able to analyse and report them accurately, regardless of the staking methodology implemented. Those with the necessary expertise should have no difficulty with this project.
At the moment I have an excel file (attached) (into which I import data from a commercially available database) which does the reporting and analysis. However there is a lot wrong with it, it's very clunky and I want this excel file developed into a proper program. To give you an idea of a program similar to what I have in mind please have a look at www.thestakingmachine.com. That program is obviously far superior to my excel file however my file does have one advantage: It has more columns. More columns means more flexibility as regards filters. For example, in sequence of bets, to only consider bets on horses of a certain age/sex/rating, and/or on the type of race, or name of trainer etc. I would like the program to give the user the option to add or delete columns before inputting or importing their data.
The program must be built around an architechture that allows further development. Ultimately I would like to add a database that I could query and pass results directly into the program, rather than having to continually import CSVs from an external dbase -that is for a later project however.
