Description: |
I need a program (preferably C/++ or a PHP script, but basically anything that runs on the commandline under Linux can work) that will search a HUGE (527,848 lines) file full of domains. This file is a huge list of blocked domains. The program/script is passed a domain, and it needs to QUICKLY (in under a second) search this file to see if the domain entered exists. The program returns 1 if it does, or 0 if not. The file is alphabetized, so a binary search is possible.
This work needs to work extremely well and needs to be QUALITY WORK - not just exploiting the possibility of a quick buck. All source code will be sent to me once the project is finished. The project must be completed quickly, within a couple of days.

| Binary search is available (recursive). You can have this multi-platform. Bug-free, no memory leaks, no lines unprocessed. Fast: optimized binary search algorithm. I can begin work tomorrow, if you are interested.

| Hello. I have written a similar program before, there's even a better algorithm than the binary search, depending on the file itself. Please check PMB

| Bid is for a program that performs a binary search using random-access file IO. It will be written in C, and won't use anything beyond the standard IO libraries, so you should be able to recompile it for just about any platform.
