Description: The site is a photo contest site where users will be able to upload photos and then vote for which photos win a contest.

features:
- voting will be done via voting brackets which will be generated automatically according to how many photos get entered into a contest and how many days the contest runs for. e.g. if the contest runs for 3 days and one bracket takes 1 day, and 125 photos are recieved, then a bracket will consist of 5 photos.

- security measures in the system to prevent people from script voting or circumventing voting integrity

- Show the running vote totals

- multiple contests can run at once, and people can enter multiple contests.

- user registration/management

- some kind of round robin system where each bracket gets rotated onto the front page.

- have anonymous voting, but also give people a chance to register after they have noted.

- a system to manage the winners of contests, i.e. weekly winners go into monthly contests, which go into yearly contests, etc...

-should be a community site where there can be integrated into a forum, phpbb/vbulletin, single sign-on

-moderators from the forum should be able to moderate the approval of photos that are submitted to the contest.

-general viewers can tag a photo as being inappropriate, which will be alerted to the moderators

-users can post comments regarding a photo, the user that posted the photo can moderate the comments for their photo.

-a way to draw a random winner from the people that voted for the winner of the contest.

-capture details of the users, fields to be given later

-give a way for users to invite other users to join and vote for their photos.

-capture relationship between the users, i.e. who invited who to join, etc...

-backend system that allows sending of emails to users, by contest, by relationship.

-GUI has to be customisable for different templates, maybe SMARTY, you will not be doing the GUI design.

-Ajax for frontend

Architecture:

I am completely open to any implementation of this as long as it is under a LAMP environment. I want to see a definitive argument from any bidders on what specifically they want to use to achieve this project, i.e. drupal/joomla/symphony/rails, etc....

bottom line is that it has to be extendable, modular and expandable for future expansion, I may want to add on wordpress/shoppingcarts/facebook integration in the future etc....

Give me a compelling reason for your design of this project.
