I have a new website and have launched it thinking we could get the payment system working once we migrated it. Wrong.
Currently the site gets an error code when you go to check out. Aaahhh.
I need to be able to offer both credit cards and PayPal as my forms of payment in VirtueMart. I simply have a Paypal Standard Account (so I can avoid SSL and the biz requirements and responsibility of holding credit cards info.) Problem is that I cannot seem to tweak the settings of checkout and payment methods quite right.
Here's what I'm trying to accomplish (not sure if it's all possible):
1. Show that we take both credit cards, checks and PayPal -- all through PayPal of course.
2. Handle all payments in PayPal (I'd love to have my logo at the top of the PayPal pages so it looks consistent.
3. Capture shopper's basic information in my Joomla site
4. Allow buyers to come back and check on status of their order and see their ordering history
5. Last, I'm having trouble with the total cart price. If you add a $299 item to the cart when you go to check out it says something like $323.41. But, there is no tax and the flat shipping fee should be $7.50. So it makes no sense. I think it has something to do with the shipping. I'm trying to set flat fees for shipping which is different for each of the four products we sell. Not sure if this is a cart issue or a shipping issue.
That should cover it. I'd appreciate a quick run though the config to see if there are any other glaring tweaks that need to be made as well.
Can you help me get the Cart payment system up fast? Hoping to have this up by tomorrow afternoon (Thursday).
