The following is a detailed outline of the X cart Project:
1. Cart Installation: The cart will be installed as a “bolt on” cart. Our site design will remain as is and will integrate X-Cart through add to cart buttons. Customers will be redirected to X-Cart check out pages. X-Cart will be installed in a sub folder and will not affect the rest of our site at all.
2. Design / Look & Feel:

This gives you an idea of the style. Ours would have to have one additional step because of the PayPal pay later option we want to incorporate – to make it extremely easy and obvious.
Cart flow will be something like this:
Step 1:
When someone hits buy it now they will be brought into the cart. The first page will have product info on left. Below product info will be an up sell landing page.
Customer should have the ability to check a box to choose the up sell.
On the right hand side of page will have three options labeled payment options… PayPal Pay Later, Credit Card and PayPal Express Checkout. Depending on how info is integrated PayPal info may bring customer directly into PayPal process. Credit card option would bring to page 2 of checkout. In addition to payment options we will request first name, last name and email address.
The first name, last name and email address should be part of an Aweber opt in form NOT requiring double opt in confirmation but in addition the name and email information should be automatically populated on page 2 of check out.
Step 2:
This page will have a confirmation of what is being ordered - landing type page. On the right would be billing and shipping information only.
Step 3: This page will have totals on left and credit card info only on right.
Then they would be brought to a Thank you page with an order confirmation number, etc.
Layout will be as shown in example and described above. Look and feel to match our site.
3. Decline Message:
We would like to have a customized decline email message and be immediately notified by email if a card is declined. Also customers that are declined should get redirected to a custom landing page.
4. PayPal Pay Later Integration: X-Cart already comes with PayPal Express pre-programmed as an option. According to PayPal Technical Integration department, adding PayPal Pay Later option involves only 2 lines of code. Documents have been attached
detailing this feature and any tech information you should require.
The above 4 items involves the most important part of this project. Please be sure to quote time and cost on the above items separately. Below you will find some additional customizations that we would like to have programmed.
5. Auto Export Files:
Would like the system to Auto export a file daily of all orders and email the file to a specified address. Would like the ability to change the address and time that the file is emailed daily. Would also like to be able to specify the order in which the data is arranged when the file is sent. In addition, would like to have separate files sent for each product.
6. PayPal Account Data Imported:
While PayPal orders made through the cart are recorded, would like a process to import other payment order information placed directly through PayPal through an online auction into the cart. This would enable all order information to be located in one database. Detailed API information from PayPal has been included. Important note: we would somehow want to be able to distinguish between and only import orders from PayPal not entered directly into the cart.
7. Integration with 3rd Party Email Solution:
Integration with third part email solution. Currently we use Aweber but are willing to switch to another provider like icontact. When an order is placed, that customer is automatically opted in to an email list which allows our firm to send follow up auto responders regarding their order. We do not want these emails to be sent through our own servers. We do not want a double opt in confirmation required when someone places and order. So we need XCart to be integrated so that when someone places and order they are added to a specific Aweber or other ESP list that does not require double opt in.
We proposed a possible workaround in the design / look feel section – item 2.
8. Thank you Page Up Sell:
We would like the ability to do a thank you page up sell without the customer having to re-enter any credit card info. So the Thank you page becomes a landing page on which the customer could do a one button up sell – purchase to their order. Of course this has to be done in compliance with credit card security requirements.
9. FedEx Integration:
Possibly be able to send batch information to FedEx to produce labels without entering and then save /print those labels as a PDF that we could send to our warehouse or… enable our warehouse limited log on capability to print the labels at their own location with a login every day. So warehouse would log on in morning. Hit print and all labels would print off. At the same time the account would automatically be updated with the tracking information and a customized tracking email sent to the customer.
Important Notes:
• Authorize.net is our gateway. Cart will be set up so that while all transactions are processed on our site all credit card information is stored on the Authorize.net site only. Of course, transaction information will be retained on our site.
• Bolt on cart to be set up in a folder on our site. Will need the ability to completely test the cart before going live.
• All landing pages in checkout should be easily changeable for testing. Verbiage, product, picture, layout and design by CSS
• Would like any customization to be able to sustain though any X Cart upgrades.
• Would like customization to be set up as modules that we can load and install onto additional X-Cart installations.
• Again, please price any customization projects separately.
• Indicate Time for completion.
• Indicate a detailed list of exactly what would have to be supplied by our firm to enable you to quickly and accurately complete the project.
