	Description:	Google Analytics & Google webmaster tools API Data extract to create/Generate monthly/Quarterly reports in Execl and/or Word. We currently run about 30 websites on Google Analytics. PHASE 1 We draw up monthly reports based on Google Analytics (GA) data, mostly. We do this mostly manually currently. The first phase of this project is to automate the process for reporting i.e. By doing data extracts: • pulling standard data for each website from GA, • into either standard MS Excel and/OR MS Word formats, (maybe via a database) • so that the format is presentable branded etc without much adjustment by us. • i.e. each website will probably have their own excel/word file for each month. We would like your suggestions about the best way to do this? Currently there is no "official" Google Analytics (GA) API - but there is an API which can extract GA report data in an XML format... We'll probably use that. Our simplistic thinking is to extract the report data (via XML) into a database each month • probably using http://code.google.com/p/janalytics/ • pull the relevant info from that database • into a proforma excel spreadsheet layout (with formatting, macro's , graphs etc) • For each website • Each month. • Effectively, use excel as a report-writing tool. •We'd prefer NOT TO USE proprietary or expensive report-writing tools at this phase, although we would consider using something like Jcharts, if it is effective & supportable.. & Excel http://www.jfree.org/jfreechart/ http://www.jfree.org/eastwood/ • We might also consider some sort of OLAP tool with Excel– so it's easy for us to modify or create new reports against the database DELIVERY TIME FRAME: WITHIN NEXT 2 WEEKS (by early – mid August.) BUDGET: TBC NOTE: This first phase of the project is relatively small & simple & the success of that will determine whether we do the 2nd & 3rd phase with the service provider We are a java house & would prefer any development to happen in Java , AJAX etc. We are also Pro-Google and would want to use Google API's wherever possible. Non-negotiable technologies: • Google Analytics as bulk of source data • Java (wherever possible) • Standard Google API's, wherever possible (Google Charts , Adwords API etc) • Google Webmaster tools & its rudimentary API Option of using Excel (possibly with an OLAP tool or similar) to generate reports from the database ? We've done some research on this (we'd normally dev in-house - but we have too much client work at present) & can point you in the direction of what tools/API alternatives etc to use. If you've worked with XML, databases, API's & excel before this should be a fairly quick & easy... Happy Bidding
