I am an old Eudora user.Now Eudora is changing and the Qualcomm decided it will be an open source project. The latest version is the 7.1 available only in Sponsored or Light mode and no more in Paid mode.
Some years ago I downloaded a paid version of Eudora and updated it still to the 5.2 version on a Windows 98 version PC.
Later I have bought another PC using a XP home edition.
So they are some years I have continued to use the Windows 98 PC for email operations.This was my big mistake.
I renounced to download newer version because the PC OS Windows 98 was not able to work correctly with newer applications.
The trouble:
I have downloaded all the data (thet I installed in tha same program
directory and not in a Document subfolder) in the new PC using XP version and at the same time I downloaded the latest Eudora version installing it on a newer PC in the Folder containing the same name and data of the older version. But all that doesn't work.
I tried also to follow some suggestions used in the Eudora Forum but
without success. You realize that at the moment I have lost all my old mail and attached files, foòters,addresses and mail accounts setting.
The possible project:
I think that the simplest solution may be to download the latest version,installing it,(Eudora 7.1 ) and using a utility for importing all data (it means email folders, filters, general setting) from older Eudora versions folders.(particularly 5.2)
This is what I need now.

I think that for people knowing how Eudora works, this is a project of hours, probably one day (7 hours).
In case you don't know how the two versions work it is possible to download free from www.qualcomm.com the old (5.2) and the new 7,1 version. You can create in the old version some new email folders , some filters,some new items in the addresses directory, some new pop account and see where they go. In that case if you are a programmer with experience and you have the right tools you can spend no more than another day of work.
