I am looking to create a graphically cool and elegant website that incorporate elements of existing social networking sites, e.g. facebook, yelp.com, with google maps, so that real-time blogging, posts, picture uploads can shared with the social network.

I think the key to my idea is that people will be able to view what their friends are doing based on a home page that is a map. The program will show when a user has made an update, you can search by date, but the default would be the current date. I'd like to have a fun looking icon for each person that would show up on the map. Then you can scroll over hte icon and see if there are any updates. The types of informationt that woulc be included would be news about restaurants, concerts, bars, and any pictures of the affiliated events.
