Knowledge you need:
PHP to create the site
SQL and MySQL for the database since the original file is in SQL.
Knowledge in making cronjob so that the database can be updated 2 times every 24 hour. 7 am (gmt+1) and 7 pm (gmt+1)
I don't have any webhosting at this moment so I would be glad if you rekomended any hostingservice were I can have this kind of page.
The Game:
The game this project is for is called travian. It's a Massively Multiplayer Online Game played under the time of the roman empire.
The project:
In this game there is a big map with all the players, I want a service website were I can search for players, villages and alliances/clans.
What I want on the site:
# An admin control panel were I can add or remove new server adresses.
# Make it easy to add google ads
# A feedback page were people can ask me to add a server they want
# Got all the servers in a long drop down list in alphabetic order
# Make it possible to make a "friend list" and one "enemy list" Any player or alliance on the friend list should not be shown at the result list when people are doing a search.
# An option for the searcher if the results show include Non-Allied Players of exclude them.
# Make it possible to add cordinates from were the resultlist should start.
# Max/min distance from start cordinates as search criteria
# Make it possible to "save" search criteria, the service I found created automatic url adresses to "save search criteria.
As using bots and scripts in the game is illegal there has to be a different way of getting the information. The Travian Games GmbH offers up to date SQL-Dumps of each game world, which offer basic information for each village on the particular game world.
In the attachment I'll give you all internet adresses to importent sites for this project.
I think that was all for now but fill free to ask any questions.
I'll update the project if I found out that I missed to give you importen information about the project.
Additional Info (Added 5/13/2008 at 9:41 EST)...Time: No hurry so I'll count the bids after amount of days and cash so think twice before you say the amount of time you'll need since I'm fastidious on that point and don't want any extra waitingtime.
