I am an English teacher born in the UK but working in China. I have an existing Wordpress blog atwww.jameshuang.co.uk in which I blog about my experiences.
I wish to update my site with a new theme and integrate more pages.
The pages I need are: Blog, Photos, About me. These would be in a horizontal menu bar under the banner.
Blog - the Wordpress blog
Photos - Coppermine photo gallery
About me - static page with sub-menus (contact me, Chinese Life).
I may need to add more pages in the future and they may need floating sub-menus. Please bear this in mind when you are designing it.
I have attached a jpg of the basic layout that I want. It is a 2 column-layout. The content container is 80 of the browser width. There are two basic colours, blue (cdfbfb) and lime green (b6e600). The background is blue and the content container is white. The banner is at the top and the menu is below. The left hand column contains the content, and the right hand column contains the normal blog links (Archives, Categories, Blogroll etc). I would also like google adsense below that.
I can also provide the banner jpg that I want but I need to know the correct size.
I have some existing blog posts that I want to keep. I have some web-design experience so I plan to maintain the site myself.
I would also like to use Windows Live Writer to write my blog posts, however, I can't get it to work on my computer. Could you test this for me as well.
