I would like to create a site that would serve as a homepage to many users. However I want to be able to pull rss fees from other sites to my site and show as headlines, including a section for blogs, weather, nearest church, sayings of the day, readings of the day, etc. A great example would be mycatholic.com
I would prefer it is that simple yet has more flexibilty to expand in the future.
I would love to have ajax included to move boxes around however it is not essential.
Username registration as well as personalized settings ofcourse. I would like to maybe include forums in the future.
Something not as big as msn.com but little more functional than mycatholic.com
thanks Additional Info (Added 9/20/2006 at 19:05 EST)...This is exactly what i need...
-clone template of mycatholic.com for very fast loading.
-the first page the user sees does not have ajax, therefore user cannot move boxes around. All boxes on the standard page are assigned by admin in the backend.
-As soon as user logs in, they can move the boxes around and also change color but cannot change the logo of the main page. They can then add feeds as they wish, weather, mail, search, etc. to their desktop. along with the boxes that I have already asssigned,
- the boxes i need are going to including a couple for rss aggregation from rss headlines for news and another one for rss blogs
- i need a box to pull readings of the day from my database and that would change automatically everyday. I will input the readings in the backend.
- i need a box for saints of the day, reflections of the day, links, and nearest church locator box.
- i need a paypal donation link, recommend us link, contact us link, about us link, help link, login and logout links, make this my homepage link..just like (mycatholic.com)
- user boxes to fetch pop, gmail, yahoo and msn mail would be nice but not essential.
Most importantly I do not want boxes on the main page to be movable. user has to login inorder to move them and customize their own layout.
Please provide bid accordingly
thanks
